Family Fitness Fun for the New Year
This year why not factor fitness in by including some of the following activities for you and your family?
•Take a family walk around the neighborhood, or go to a park and take a nature hike.
•Create your own family video of exercise routines.
•Invent a new dance and name it after your family.
•Play some music and invite everyone to dance – from children to grandparents.
•Play “Twister” or other active indoor games.
•Invite the whole family to ‘act out’ a story as you read it.
•Create an indoor playground with items such as nerf and beach balls, a badminton set, and an over the door basketball hoop.
•Use physical activity rather than food as a reward –
for example, everybody goes to the roller rink or bowling.
•Start a log of daily fitness activities for each family member.
